For my second portrait I decided to use my friend Veer Shetty. Veer is a very good friend of mine who I have known since ninth grade. He is a very funny and relaxed guy so I tried to take a few portraits that captured his personality. I actually took these photos inside of the Chinese Restaurant Gourmet Garden. It provided some interesting lighting that I had to counteract using the brightness and contrast tools. Veer didn't have very much on his face for me to repair, so I just worked on using the lighting and high pass filters to improve the quality of the image. I think these portraits came out really well. I liked how the black and white creates a contrast between the two sides of his face, and the high quality of the color portrait.

Trey, Black and White
This portrait is of my twin brother Trey Smith. He has been a part of my life for 16 years and means the world to me. He is usually a very serious and quiet person so I decided to try and take a portrait that expressed these qualities. I had him stand next to a window so we had good outside lighting, and then on a white background to keep it simple and maintain the focus on him. It was initially challenging figuring out how to use the heal tool, but after that it was very easy and did a great job removing marks from his face. Overall, I was really happy how these portraits, because they look nice but they also display his calm and quiet manner.
